Major frustrations with the SwingAffect hitting aid, any help?

Don't understand this contraption, both from a construction viewpoint and any kind of usefulness,

First what and how is adjusted with or by?

The videos show the hitter's elbows dug into their waste bands, all-in-all it looks like another welded together piece of junk for those of us not smart enough to stick with the simple training you can get with a mirror, a weight, a few thousands push-ups and constant practice, anyone else purchasing one of these contraptions please let me know if I am off base,

Trying to get the device on my arm (I am 56 this is for my 15 year old son who already has hit for 10 years, and plays for his high school) the cuff is like a blood pressure cuff and so tight the idea of banding the Velcro seems more like a good way to cut the circulation off in your arm as the cuff is almost impossible to get on, (I am no body builder)

Appreciate the replies, and hope I simply do not understand modern technology,

Mr. Will, I totally understand, this hitting tool was hard for me to wrap my head around myself, so I figured what better thing to do than to send an email to the inventor and request him to address your concerns on our site (it will post as a reader comment to your question)...we appreciate the frustration, hopefully we can shed some light on the situation for you :)
