Major frustrations with the SwingAffect hitting aid, any help?

by Will
(KC Missouri)

Don't understand this contraption, both from a construction viewpoint and any kind of usefulness,

First what and how is adjusted with or by?

The videos show the hitter's elbows dug into their waste bands, all-in-all it looks like another welded together piece of junk for those of us not smart enough to stick with the simple training you can get with a mirror, a weight, a few thousands push-ups and constant practice, anyone else purchasing one of these contraptions please let me know if I am off base,

Trying to get the device on my arm (I am 56 this is for my 15 year old son who already has hit for 10 years, and plays for his high school) the cuff is like a blood pressure cuff and so tight the idea of banding the Velcro seems more like a good way to cut the circulation off in your arm as the cuff is almost impossible to get on, (I am no body builder)

Appreciate the replies, and hope I simply do not understand modern technology,

Swing Smarter Response:
Mr. Will, I totally understand, this hitting tool was hard for me to wrap my head around myself, so I figured what better thing to do than to send an email to the inventor and request him to address your concerns on our site (it will post as a reader comment to your question)...we appreciate the frustration, hopefully we can shed some light on the situation for you :)

P.S. Wondering which baseball hitting aids are worth their weight in gold? Frustrated scowering the internet for over-hyped highly endorsed swing gadgets NOT doing a darn thing for your swing?

Swing Smarter and FOWL Ball's The Starting Lineup store is just what the baseball world is looking for...it's where we can find the "9 best baseball hitting aids on the planet."

It takes a lot for a hitting gadget to crack The Starting Lineup, because there are only 9 spots available.

Unfortunately, they aren't cheap AND some require a hefty investment...however, everyone knows we get what we pay for. If we purchase cheap baseball hitting aids, then we'll get cheap results; and if we're a seeker of non-quality non-functional products, then we'd highly recommend NOT visiting
The Best Starting 9 today. Junk in, means junk out.

FYI
by: California Terminators

Sorry to be long winded, but I would hate anyone to have second thoughts about ordering the swingaffect. While I too am not a bodybuilder, I was in the Marine Corps for 6 years and my biceps are roughly 19" and not only does this swing affect fit my arm (with a batting jacket on). It fits all eleven of the players on my 11u team.

The proof is in the RESULTS!!
by: California Terminators

Will,
Without being too critical and quick to judge, I think you and your High School son may also find the Hit Stick too hard to operate. I have an elite 11u travel team from Southern California. We have been using the SwingAffect for 6 months now and the results have been dramatic. Before we would rely on our pitching staff, usually scoring 5-6 runs a game. This past weekend at Triple Crown's Spring Championship held in Arizona we came in 2nd (Division 1) out of 48 teams. We scored an average of 9-10 runs per game. Keeping the elbow from "flying" and having it travel inside our "core" has not only decreased the number of Pop-ups, but increased the number of "LINE-DRIVE Home runs". We had 11 Homeruns in 8 games this last weekend. Last, to atest to the fact that Thomas stands 100% behind his product, when I placed a "TEAM" order with him, he drove the product to my practice and gave my players 2 hours of his night, teaching/coaching and showing off what I believe is a VERY valuable learning tool for my young hitters. As a coach and hitting instructor I have found using the SwingAffect, I only have to focus on my hitters "Lower Half" (which is where 90% of the power generates from). Will if you don't believe 100% in what Thomas is telling/selling you please contact me at temeculabaseball@roadrunner.com and I will bring my 11 year olds for a hitting demostration. MUSCLE MEMORY!!

Will,

I'm sorry you were confused! I spoke with Micheal and he gets its. The DEVICE slides up the lead arm and use Velcro straps to tighten to a snug fit.

The ARM, or metal piece, is and should be running parallel to the forearm when extended (this is where Will and Micheal's confusion started). When I ship I DON'T know the tension needed, so I DO NOT tighten the tension tube, which is for the customer to decide.

Next, tighten tension tube to needed tension, and finally, attach the loop on the end of tension tube to KNOB of bat.

I would like to add this is a first for a customer and I'm working on getting it more simple to understand.

The VIDEO inside of the box I have addressed the issue within minutes...I was on the phone with Micheal, Will's son, and explained it thoroughly. He will be sending me some video and I will post it on the website.

I also offer a full refund if not satisfied!!
It would be a first, but there is always one out there.

Swing Smarter Response:
Thanks so much Thomas for your explanation on the SwingAffect's use, all the information is very helpful and for a customer to know you offer a full refund if not satisfied is huge...not to mention, you haven't had any returned yet :)

I'm very grateful you took the time out of your busy schedule to visit Swing Smarter and contribute some quality content about your product.
