Online Hitting Trainer Lessons & Help Me to Become a Full Time Blogger
Note to my Swing Smarter Hitting Trainer readers: This post will be the only time I will ask for donations (although I will leave a donation button in the sidebar)...if it bothers you, please skip this post.To fast forward and go straight to asking your swing question, please Use This Link to post below. I absolutely LOVE to talk hitting (after God, wife, and family of course ;) And I don't mind helping those needing aid with their swings... I started SwingSmarter.com because I didn't have a free content rich hitting trainer resource when I was growing up...I had to go to Barnes & Noble every time I wanted to add to my baseball hitting knowledge. I didn't buy the books (unless it was juicy), I just sat and dug in for hours. The problem was, most of the popular endorsed hitting trainer books didn't have any riveting information, except for the few included in my Top Hitting Books section of the site, they regurgitated the same ol' crap all the other ones did. Some of you know by now, Big Leaguers are super good do-ers, but super bad explaining how they "do it." I just watched an interview with Albert Pujols on the MLB Network, and listened to him describe how he hits using knob down to the baseball, and how getting the barrel deep in the zone creates slow bat speed... Well, when you watch him in slow motion, you'll see the opposite of what he's teaching. If Pujols stays healthy, he'll be one of the best hitters ever, and even he has trouble dissecting his own swing. Ted Williams (my favorite old timer of all-time) in The Science of Hitting came the closest to nailing "it," and still, he left a lot of holes about how The Splendid Splinter actually "did it." Concerning self-proclaimed "know-it-all" online hitting gurus, they're too frickin' hard to understand. I have to read through their verbal chicken scratch 10 times to get what the heck they're trying to say. It's like they're speaking Gaelic! What does this have to do with donations to SwingSmarter.com or interactive hitting trainer lessons??? Not saying I'm THE swing know-it-all, because I'm not, however I have a knack for explaining very hard technical concepts about the swing, and am able to put them into pre-packaged ready-to-eat metaphorical packaging. Also, the spirit of Swing Smarter is to flesh out the vital information from the unimportant, and I am a whiz at doing that as well (this is why the F-Owl Ball mascot). What's more... As some of you keeping the pulse of SwingSmarter.com know, I've put the site on steroids recruiting Chas Pippitt of I.T.S Baseball to the Swing Smarter team. If you haven't yet visited our sponsored Chas Pippitt Baseball Hitting Rebellion Blog, then do so HERE and JOIN the Rebel Hitting Movement! We're on the cutting edge of hitting, and surprisingly most coaches unfortunately: - DON'T understand it,
- DON'T teach it, and
- May NOT start players who hit like this because of the first two reasons (true story)!
We're working on a Premium I.T.S Baseball Hitting Trainer Certification blending Chas teaching of over 8,000 hitting lessons since 2005 turning his students into stand-up double & home-run hitting machines, with my Yoga and muscle imbalance expertise. Yeah, yeah, I've conceded the hitting technique expertise to Chas. I feel like Robin when I say that with Chas being Batman :( My father always said, no matter how much you think you know, there's always someone else who knows more. Then why would anyone want a Swing Tuneup from me and NOT Chas? 3 Reasons: - Don't get me wrong, Chas is FANTASTIC, but sometimes can be confusing because he is so technical...that's why we were meant for each other (no, we don't plan on getting married, I think it'd be illegal in a number of different states, plus our wives wouldn't appreciate such short notice), I help recover the "lost in translation,"
- Chas has been mentoring me (crazy to think huh?), so I've been relating his thoughts to my own philosophies and experiences,
- Because I'm an intern of the I.T.S. Baseball Hitting System and have to accumulate hours to become certified, I can teach for a discount on a very limited basis, Chas on the other hand, would cost a fortune.
What if you wanted to hire Chas as an online hitting trainer?? Don't worry, it's coming. We're collaborating on bringing Chas's hitting system to your very own computer screen. Right now, we're working on integrating an interactive online hitting trainer experience through the Baseball Hitting Rebellion Blog blowing away any DVD hitting system, book, or any other popular consumer media out there. I'm so excited, but unfortunately, I can't let the cat out of the bag just yet... So until that is ready, unfortunately you're stuck with me :P If you think the baseball hitting skills, drills, and tools content on SwingSmarter.com is worth something like $25/year, then please take the time to donate below. Daily, I think about making SwingSmarter.com a membership because: - Of over 200 pages of rich 20% of swing content contributing to over 80% of success at the plate,
- Hundreds and almost thousands of people A DAY visit the site,
- All the very gracious testimonials scattered throughout,
- Super great submissions of hitting aid reviews, tips, and swing tuneup questions from my fantastic readers,
- Averaging 6 new subscribers daily to The Swing Architect Newsletter, and
- Over 100 orders put in at The Starting Lineup Store since it's launch March 20th of 2010 (this is July 2011 as I write this).
I could easily charge at least $9.99/mo, or $120/year, however I've decided to keep it free of charge. A few of the rare Google ads and commission links I have scattered throughout the site help pay for the back-end stuff, but it's definitely not enough for me to become a full-time Blogger. Here's comes the shameless plug... ;) If the economy has beat you down, then $25 or less would work to show your appreciation for the time and money I've dumped into SwingSmarter.com, or if the market has blessed you with rainbows and pots of gold, then please consider the $120 for the year. Remember, you're under NO obligation, AND no hard feelings if you decide not to donate. Feel free to still utilize our interactive Swing Smarter Hitting Trainer program below at NO cost. If you're having a hard time with your kid's swing, or your own, then please post your frustrations in following.
