Babe Ruth Lesson Learned: Is Modern Terminology RUINING Your Swing...

Babe Ruth

If Babe Ruth would've ever heard the amount of times "Sit Back!" was said on the baseball and softball diamonds across the nation, he would've puked in his own mouth.

This isn't how explosive rotational power is achieved...

In the video analysis below, we'll be looking at:

  • Whether The Sultan of Swat does a good job of "un-weighting" the bat (all 42-52 ounces of it),
  • If he employs human movement Science and the Catapult Loading System (similar to how a jumping kangaroo does), and
  • Compare his explosive rotational power movement to a WR holding Shot Putter (using the Glide technique).

You see, the Colossus of Clout was 6'2", 215lbs, according to BaseballReference.com, and swung a 36 inch woody that weighed between 42-52 ounces (that's 2.5 to a little over 3lbs)!

By today's physique standards, The Babe would looked dwarfed standing next to guys like Josh Hamilton, Albert Pujols, and Miguel Cabrera...however, what Ruth lacked in physical size, he made up for in bat size ;-)

What's more...

He even wielded a very narrow stance (feet together), but what you'll see in the video is, he seems to 'fall' onto his front leg.  Very counter-intuitive to modern hitting terminology, but crucial to his power and consistency.

What you're going to learn are the true PRINCIPLES to explosive rotational power, and how ALL rotational athletes have to abide by them...if they want to be successful.

Here's a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson:

"As to the methods there may be a million and then some, but principles are few.  The man who grasps principles can successfully select his own methods. The man who tries methods, ignoring principles, is sure to have trouble."

Think of methods (drills) as almost everything you find on YouTube about hitting.  Principles are universal laws that govern ALL human movement.
